I was invited to a K-Palette Beauty Blogger Workshop a couple of weeks back, held at Fika at Arab Street!
If you ever explore the Japanese beauty products section at Watsons or Sasa, you'll definitely see their award-winning 24H REAL LASTING EYELINER!
However, this event is the launch of their 24H REAL LASTING EYEBROW LINER! I tell you, this product is a GODSEND. It consists of a brush-tip liner and a powder which is super natural!
I've never really mastered the art of drawing brows because my brows are quite er, bushy hahaha but there's a really annoying gap on my right brow. I just can't stop tweezing my brows once I start!
Their brow chart is very very useful! Other than framing your face, brow shapes also determine the look you want to portray.
Check out the numerous awards that they've won
& I personally bought the 1day tattoo eyeliner just 1-2weeks just before this event so I can totally vouch that it's really super black and lasting.
They gave us a marshmallow stick with our respective names printed on it! So cute!
I think my full name was too long hahahaha!
Another segment of the event that I totally looked forward to... the LUNCH WAHAHAHA!
Waiting for the event to start...
The 2 very funny and cute girls at my table, Verlyn and Chantana. I didn't get the blog links of the other 4 ladies sitting with me!
Canon was the Official Imaging Partner of this event, and there was this backdrop where we had our photos taken and printed on the spot with a paper frame haha. I forgot to take a photo of my photo! :(
The K-Palette Japanese makeup artists, Sawako-san and Mariko-san!
Check out her drawings!
They're preparing for the 2 different eye looks that are all the rage in Japan right now! Namely, the cool and kawaii look! Actually I think they used another name for it, not kawaii... but my memory is failing me right now D:
This is the director of Japalang Pte Ltd, the official distributor of K-Palette (& many other brands haha)
He gave a very funny speech!
Okay, so the long-awaited segment is finally gonna start!
Here's Mariko-san creating the cool eye look on the model
Lining the waterline for the cool look
while this right eye is the kawaii look! I took videos for the entire makeup process, but the files are too huge!
It's okay, K-Palette provided close-up photos for both of the looks! :D
Fake upper lashes were used for both
Left eye - Cool look
A higher arch which exudes the "professional" or "serious" look
A medium brown eyeshadow with super glittery shimmer dabbed on at the lower lid area
Eyeliner is drawn on the entire waterline and drawn fake lashes at the outer part of the waterline
I usually see this look on Vivi magazine!
Right eye - Kawaii look
Very prominently used in the Japanese Popteen magazine
A soft brow shape was drawn with the 24H Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner
Droopy eyelids to create the manga eye look & the bottom lashes are drawn with the 24H Real Liner Eyeliner, with one or 2 individual faux lashes slightly lower than the waterline for bigger eyes!
Hehe so now you guys know where I got inspired to draw my lower fake lashes eh. It's been a makeup trend in Japan since 2009, but they used to glue on lower fake lashes which I didn't want. So I drew them on! :D
I was browsing through my Aug 2011 Popteen magazine and found these 2 pages!
Didn't have time to scan them in so here are scans which I found online.
Left - Kawaii look
Right - Cool look
Even the Japanese love K-Palette products!
These 2 techniques were exactly the same as what we were being taught in the event.
Hehe now it's lunch time!
Cream of Mushroom soup
I got the Pan Fried Dory Fish with pomodoro sauce
While the other choice of main was Rosemary Grilled Chicken
Had Bread Butter Pudding for dessert!
& we left the event with a very awesome goodie bag, more knowledge of different eye makeup techniques and a happy tummy!
This... is the most generous goodie bag that I've ever received in a bloggers event!
I think they gave us the entire range of K-Palette products HAHA!
The 24H Real Lasting eyeliner (I highly recommend this super black eyeliner) and eyebrow liners
Mascara, Mascara Base and more eyeliners!
A loose powder, oil-blotting paper sheet pack, a very cute mini nail file and fake lashes
& here comes the starrrssss~
The 24H Real Lasting 2-way Eyebrow Liner that comes in 2 shades!
Besides matching eyebrow shade with your hair colour, you gotta pair it according to your skin tone as well.
01 is for tan skin, while the 02 is for fair skin types!
I'm using 01 for the following swatches!
This is the brush tip which is used for filling in gaps in your brows and for the tail.
Don't be too enthusiastic with it! A few swift, subtle strokes go a loong way.
& this is the powder applicator! Super convenient & revolutionary indeed. The powder gets replenished the moment you cap the lid on.
Top - Liner
Bottom - Powder
This is my look hehe using K-Palette's 24H Real Lasting Waterproof Eyeliner in Super Black and 24H Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner in 02.
Heh I know this photo is super overexposed cos I was rushing for time so didn't check the photos until last night, but the important part is the EYEEES ya!
As opposed to drawing lengthy bottom lashes, I dot my waterline instead to create fuller lashes. & I winged out the upper eyeliner slightly downwards, something like the Kawaii look.
I hope this entry has been as informative as the event heh...
MANY THANKS to Japalang Pte Ltd, K-Palette and Thesamplestore for inviting me to this K-Palette Beauty Blogger Workshop! Best blogger event ever! Congratulations! HAHA!
