FREEDOM FOR MY CHOMPERS

This piece of news is pretty old but...
I finally, finally finally... REMOVED MY BRACES!! ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ
I wanted to see how my teeth looked like in my profile HAHA, so here it is!
Wearing the cute liemun(diamond) necklace Ann, Usha and Matty gave as my 21st birthday pressie!
Can't see it here but it's a tiny heart key. It's like a MUST to receive a key on your 21st HAHA.

Went for my dental appointment this morning because my wonderful dentist wanted to check my teeth and retainers.
And... he gave me a present.
No, it wasn't an inflated rubber glove. It was THIS!

Which proves a point: MY DENTIST IS DEFINITELY BETTER THAN YOURS MUAHAHA!
Dr Poon from Dental Works at Paragon.
Click on the photo above and you'll get every single detail other than his home address.

HAHAHA it's my teeth's BEFORE & AFTER! (^▽^;)
You know seriously, I don't know if I should be horrified that my teeth alignment was THAT BAD, or relieved that I decided to do braces.

So let's take a tour of le BEFORE, shall we?
 Front view, omg terrifying.
Right profile, haha check out my protruding canine (commonly known as tiger tooth or 虎牙)
Okay la even my central incisors were sticking out (^_^;) but it wasn't obvious in real life so it didn't quite affect me. Now that I'm seeing it... haiyoeh.
Left Profile: Teeth marked "X" were removed!
All 4 of them (TωT) but it's for a MUCH BETTER CAUSE!
 Left: Upper Jaw
Right: Lower Jaw
SO CROOKED!!! (´Д`;)

AFTER THE 19-MONTH TRANSFORMATION!
Actually I think it could have been about 2-3 months earlier but I wasn't wearing my rubber bands religiously hahaha.
 Front view
Right Profile: Nice and straight eh, hehe!
Canine is brought down, AMAZING RIGHT? I never really believed that it would happen.
Left: Upper Jaw
Right: Lower Jaw

Many people have asked me how is it like with braces etc.
To be honest, I went to the dentist because of my wisdom tooth infection. I was actually supposed to do braces when I was 13 or 14, but backed out at the last minute. Coincidentally, Dr Poon was my supposed dentist at that time HAHA.
Aight so anyway, he suggested doing braces because straight teeth is easier to clean other than looking good and I was like hrm why not?

I picked the ceramic kind since they were transparent, plucked out 4 of my teeth and witnessed the remaining survivors inch into perfection. Make sure you go for your appointments every single month and wear your rubber bands if you're told to do so. It requires a lot of discipline if you want to remove them ASAP. Also, the duration also depends on the condition of your teeth so Patience, my dear Padawan.

Food.
I was having a really difficult time chewing even Chee Cheong Fun on the first day haha. Thing is, your jaws/teeth will definitely feel weaker and sore so don't even attempt potato chips or anything that requires much chewing.
I had like porridge, yoghurt, ice cream, soup, simple noodle soup like mee sua/kway teow every day for the first 2 months or so. It gradually got better with time, only hurting on the first 2-3 days after every new appointment.
Then again, I was a trooper. I kinda forced myself to chew because I resented eating the same nonsense every day! So yep, broke about 2 brackets within the first few months HAHA.

Don't hesitate getting braces! Your braces will be out before you know it and you'll have gorgeous teeth forever *if you wear your retainers*. Mine are in pink and silver glitter, so pretty!!! I believe that pretty retainers will motivate you hahaha.

& of course, I gotta thank my dentist who is made of perfectionism, professionalism and godlike skills.
\(^_^)/

I wasn't paid to write this hor! He's really very very good!
