As if one Red Velvet Cake wasn't enough, I had to make TWO. Hahaha!
Actually it was mainly because bf asked for another one so yeah...
Anyway, as said in my previous vday post, I had always been curious about Red Velvet Cake but never really heard of any good ones around here! Heck, I hardly ever see them in our local bakeries. So I researched ten million recipes to make sure I was on the right track (since I've never tasted one before) and settled with this one by pinchmysalt. I was in LOVE with its deep, crimson red... mmm...
While I had found my recipe, I wanted to make it special since it was vday!
So I did a 2-layer heart-shaped Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting and covered it with crumbs.
I baked it in 2 6-inch round cake tins and carved the respective hearts
Keep the leftovers!
I know the one on the left looks blackish but it's caused by the cocoa powder
I ran a fork through the leftover parts, slathered the cake with cream cheese frosting, covered it with crumbs and voila!
Then, bf lee asked for another Red Velvet Cake.
I suddenly had a revelation... why not sandwich the layers with OREOS?
So I did. Mmm... black gold.
It's basically the biscuit base of oreo cheesecake, soo good.
Omg I'm salivating already (-。－；)
Aaahh it's after dinner and I'm dying for some dessert!
